Family Olympics 2008

“This is my church family. It is an Olympics for the family in the body of Christ!”
From a then incoming 3rd year high school guy: “When I was about to swim, I thought I wouldn’t have enough strength to swim many laps. But I told myself, ‘do all the best you can because this is for Project Mosaic.’ I knew God was watching over me. I remembered the verse ‘I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.’ God really gave me strength then. I couldn’t have done it without Him. I gladly did it for Project Mosaic and for the glory of God.”
Dry Spell
“Before the Family Olympics, my heart was going through a dry season. Then I got sick 2 days before the event. Then I had to meet one of my small group members, I prayed so hard that even if I was bleeding inside, God will still use me to be a blessing to her. But things went the other way. When she shared how she and her sister were able to get sponsors for the laps, my heart just melted. The twinkle in her eyes bared the excitement in her soul. As if she knew God will show us something in the Family Olympics; that He will do something.”
“Then I prayed that I may truly find His face in every part of the event. … During the Amazing Race, a lot of my team mates were from the youth. There were so many of them, I was suddenly overwhelmed by their number. Then my heart just cried in prayer that Project Mosaic will truly be a platform of God’s power and glory for the youth in Makati.”
