Why the new Mosaic Lounge and Auditorium?

Ahh… Aguy… Aguy

Ahhh…ahhh…AGUY…oh my back …my legs.. my thigh…goshhh. That’s what you’ll hear from me after combining the run, jog and walk for nearly three hours. Would you believe I could not get up from my bed until the following morning if not for the Sunday worship?

Nevertheless, the joy within was indeed uncontainable. That ad done by Carmen was beautifully worded …it says : WHAT’S the FUN in WALKING, JOGGING and RUNNING? If it’s for the highest cause: The pleasure of the Race Master! The MILES become INCHES, the pounding of the heart becomes JOY uncontainable!

The FUN RUN was conceived for five days only and birthed on the 6th day. When someone in the team said, “only Nehemiah team will run”, I almost choked but am sure that no one noticed. Thoughts / ideas began toying at the back of my head as to how I am going to last and reach the minimum 10 laps. Admittedly, it was an event that I have absolutely no experience of, whatsoever. So I said to myself… “bahala na si Batman” “ magla-lab offering na lang ako to come up with a bigger amount.” Or get a proxy to do it for me…O, tindi ba?!!

I’d been on diet for approximately one month already. Apparently, much less carbo intake or sometimes even zero for the day. Gym was also a part of my diet.

Friday came and my mind was set for me to eat rice over dinner, to prepare myself for this challenging event. Lo and behold, my small group prepared ‘YANG CHOW RICE’ with matching cake rolls. Indeed, God has heard me and sent tons of carbo that night.

Prior to Friday, I texted my Picksource group and my couple’s group – even phoned Bro. Willie Samson in Palawan for their pledges. They’re so kind enough to support and others even pledged for a higher minimum (instead of P100 per lap, it’s P500 per lap). Two things I had in mind then…that they believe in my strength OR I can’t do it, anyway… ha ha ha!

Saturday came… ALL SYSTEMS GO! I woke up early at.4:30am, fixed myself and had RICE again for breakfast (imagine eating breakfast at this hour …TINDI, di ba!??) before heading to ULTRA.

Wow, Dante, my good looking and loving hubby was dressed sporty but never ran (for obvious reason)…at least he was there to cheer for me, and to massage my legs in case it gets cramped…o, di ba, sweet?

Kidding aside, I was deeply touched by the way the brethren supported the project. The willingness to partake in the work in whatever way was just heart -warming.

Oomph team, represented by Emy and Grettel, together with my small group ladies were the “cheering squad”.

Tita Jane & Josie & Ophel, on behalf of WIVES, prepared the food. They also were able to get food and drinks donation from Gardenia, Gatorade and Absolute, respectively.

Rico of Soul Brothers provided DEL MONTE drinks.

That really inspired and encouraged me, especially, to carry on…to accept the challenge to run / jog / walk even it would cause my “depigmentation “ to recur…to which I was so scared about. Actually, I was more concerned about my face than the fear of fainting.

Again, I could have asked someone to do it for me or it would have been easier to just give the amount that I have targeted to raise. But, it wasn’t the money that matters most, it was more of how I can become magnanimous in inspiring and encouraging my team.

Being in Nehemiah team is no joke. We are supposed to be builders. Thus, we are aware of how big the role is for the “New Mosaic” construction. Our team must have that ‘’boiling enthusiasm” within so as to accomplish the task. Each and every member should be an encourager…an inspirer and a team player.

Truly, the Lord’s strength, grace and mercy were upon me. He had let me finish 17 laps! Those who pledged for me experienced their jaws drop… ha ha ha …sorry folks…now, it’s time for me to collect ! See, how the Lord loves the oppressed! (Joke lang!).

Indeed, God is good. We were able to raise P200K. Our initial target was doubled.

Wasn’t that amazing?

To God be the glory!

By the way, see you again in the next FUN RUN event….

Ciao!
