At Such a Time as This

Our love story is extraordinary. It comprises of a 17-year old friendship, 10 years of which is spent in significant waiting upon the Lord. And on the 10th year of our waiting, Project Mosaic was born, simultaneous with Global Village 25/25.
Wedding preparations have started and everything seemed to fall into places. Then the vision for both Project Mosaic and Global Village 25/25 were cast. We were asked to pray which group we’d like to be part of. I signed up for 25/25. Same day, our Life Coach showed us around the place where Mosaic Center will be built. It was then in ruins. We went there to offer it in prayers. We hauled praying for God to break our hearts and show us how to be part of it. I was weeping so hard, I’d like to see it built for the next generation, one story at a time. It was barely three months before our much awaited wedding. Sa totoo lang, we didn’t save-up for the wedding expenses. We received a love offering from our dear loved ones which we allotted for the reception expenses, or to cover a portion of it. So there goes our “plan-all-you-can” scheme for the wedding.
You see, we are both employed but we’re receiving a compensation JUST ENOUGH to cover our needs and obligations, that’s why we take freelance projects on editing and events styling. That time, no project was coming in and my heart was breaking into pieces for Project Mosaic, kahit na nag-sign up ako for 25/25. Then from time to time, nae-excite kami for the wedding. In one of our big dreams for the wedding, we thought of bringing in Starbucks Coffee in the reception to delight our guests. We wanted to have something so unique and to let our friends and loved ones see how big our God is. After all, everyone also waited this long for the story to come in full circle. Walang project na dumating. But come February, I received my 1st salary increase at retroactive pa from December. Tuwang-tuwa kami ng aking groom. Finally we have funds for the wedding. But when we were praying, Project Mosaic strikes our heart like anything. Sabi ko nga “ Lord, we waited 10 years for this wedding, for everything to be well-placed.” We wouldn’t mind waiting another year because we’d like to give up our wedding funds for the Project Mosaic. So we decided in our hearts, the retroactive increase I received is not ours. Weeks later, an unexpected project came in. Tuwang-tuwa na naman kami kasi parang ibinalik ni Lord yung pang Wedding Starbucks funds namin. When we received the check from the project we just finished, the 25/25 Vision Casting commenced. Believing in my heart that our wedding is an answered prayer and a result of God’s faithfulness, gusto namin ibalik kay Lord ang lahat ng ito by taking part in his 25 years of Faithfulness for Bread of Life. That night during the meeting, nagkatinginan kami ng aking groom, teary eyed, trembling, nagkaintindihan na kami. The check we received is not for the wedding. We even told ourselves, “we can postpone the wedding. We want to give our all AT SUCH A TIME AS THIS”. Ang wedding pwede reschedule, pero ang CLOUD OF GLORY, hindi. That goes for Project Mosaic as well.
When these things are happening, I realized Project Mosaic was born on the year we are entering BOL’s 25th Year. These two endeavors are so significant to me and my then groom, now my husband. Yes, natuloy ang wedding in the Unbound Year of 2007 – no wedding funds, no savings, just GOD’S FAITHFULNESS and we had everything we dreamed of for our wedding. God took care of everything. Amazing! Impossible! But, IT HAPPENED. Attached are our meaningful proofs.
To date, we have not stopped supporting Project Mosaic in every way we can. And God never ceased blessing us like we can never imagine at all. Exactly three months after our wedding, we brought home our 1st Brand New Car. Yes, AT SUCH A TIME AS THIS na nagpapaubos tayo sa Kanya, pinupuno Niya tayo at nag-uumapaw ng todo todo. We can never outgive the Giver of Gifts. It is truly HIS STORY.
